Dash of Courage: Blind Spots or Bright Spots

Don't fix your flaws--fuel your strengths.

With Chat GPT we now have a therapist, strategist, and PHD all in our pocket to analyze every problem.

One viral Chat GPT prompt summed it up:
"Now that you can remember everything I've ever typed here, point out my top 5 blind spots, give me guidance on how I can overcome them."

But I think we're asking the wrong question.

We're wired to fix what's broken.

But the fastest way to grow?

Analyze what's working

We obsess over weaknesses.
But success leaves clues.

Bright spots show us the way forward.

Blind or Bright:
My first job was Investment Banking in Hong Kong. Yes--me.

I was horrible at finance.
Decent at sales.
But leading people...that lit me up.

Thankfully, my boss saw it too.

He gave me the feedback on what I lacked--but chose to focus on what I had.

That encouragement changed everything. I'm not sure how long I would have lasted at Merrill Lynch. Instead, I took a different path--building leadership companies the last two decades. Now I speak on Courageous Leadership around the world.

All because one boss had the courage to focus on the bright spot

Last year, I flew back to Hong Kong just to thank him. It meant that much.

A Dash of Courage: The world will keep telling you to fix your blind spots. Have a Dash of Courage to do this instead:

Better Chat GPT prompt: "Now that you can remember everything I've ever typed here, what are my top 5 bright spots? Provide me with small moments and big opportunities to successfully lean into these even more."

Double down on what makes you...you.

Go do more of that!

Courage over Comfort,
